Who plans on seeing this? Filming looks quite different. |

I'm looking forward to seeing this too! It isn't exactly what I would call a remake of the film "300 Spartans" although it is based on the Battle of Thermopylae. The film "300" is based on the graphic novel "300" by Frank Miller. Although he was inspired to make his graphic novel after seeing "300 Spartans" as a child. I'm seriously not being facetious, but does that constitute a remake? At any rate, its all a rich tapestry and I still want to see it. |

I stand corrected. You're right that it's not a remake. I didn't know it was based on the book "300", until I read more about it. Can't wait to see it. Might have to read the book first. |

It seems like a long time since I had "300" in my hands. I'm going to have to refamiliarize myself with it as well. |

I actually tried to find the book to read before the movie, but couldn't find it at Walmart or the local library, so I will have to try Amazon or Borders. The main actor in the movie had his workout featured in this month's Men's Health; he's quite the beast now. The trailers are really making this movie look good! |

F***ing awesome! I expected a lot and it delivered. Swept the box office w/ $70 million, highest opening in a March. The filming was great, but the battle scenes were off the chain! I know there was a lot of CG, but it was hard to tell what was real vs. fake. |

Badass. I wasn't able to go see it because I'm in the middle of moving and I'll have to wait til next weekend. So its well worth it, huh? I saw a few monstrous looking fellas on a trailer. Do they make sense within the context of the show or did they kinda stick out as awkward? |

Yes, there were definitely some massive creatures, but to me it only added to the how incredulous the movie was. When I go to the movie, I go to be entertained. A few things thrown in that probably didn't exist doesn't effect on me. Now a fellow in the office next to me struggled with it, saying he was expecting something more along the lines of "Gladiator", where everything was completely believable. I'd say this is 98% conceivable, with a few creatures thrown in. I'd have to go 10/10. To me the most amazing part was how in the world they created the battle sequences. Most of what happens has to be CGI, but it looks so real you don't think about it. You could feel the testosterone flow from the screen. The guys playing the Spartans are quite inspiring. If the gym would have been open when I left, that would have been my next stop. The movie provides a lot of detail about how Spartans are trained to be the ultimate fighting machine from a very young age. And, definitely get there before it starts to check out the trailer for "Grindhouse". |

Oh....Emmm....Geeee.... This movie was rediculous. I liked all, but one part, which I bet you could guess the scene. The fight scenes were absolutely phenominal. Some kid tried to say that there was too much slow mo, but I beg to differ. You get to see every hit that is made in slow motion, they give you time to enjoy the battle scenes so its not like one man slashing around really fast for 2 seconds. Every scene with a spartan in it was badass. This is would be one of my favorite movies if it just didn't have that one scene towards the end. It is definitely top 10 though! Yea, I wanted to work out afterwards too. Good thing when I got home Harold and Kumar was on the TV screen; then I wanted to get stoned. The movie was interesting from beginning to end, I was emersed in it for the entirety of the film. In some scenes, you could tell that it was probably supposed to look like a scene from the comic book because of how artistic it was. Appearance and violence wise, this movie was awesome. The story rocked! Thermopylae is an interesting story in itself, but they did it justice. |

I'm really looking forward to Grindhouse right about now. I need me some super-shitty action movies. Rock. Yeah, 300 was made entirely on a sound stage, so there's bound to be some CG in there. I caught a bit of footage pre-vfx and it had some pretty elaborate fighting in the scenes I saw. Someone was just telling me that the main character, King Leonidas, may get the Kurt Russell role of Snake Plisskin in a (fucking) remake of Escape From New York. |

No joke; I would leave work right now if I could and go see 300 again. It is that good. On IMDB, "300" has already soared to #156 of the all time top 250. |
