Well, the referees assisted USC to a win over Clemson, big whoop. Explain to me how when a ball carrier hasn't touched the ground and drops a ball, it's not a fumble. How is it that when it's 4th and 1 and a runner moves backwards, it's a 1st down. How does a pass that goes from one yard line back one a 'forward pass'? Seriously, there were some horrible ass calls. But still, I guess the shamecocks can take their 1-for-5 win and shove it.

Notre Dame is the most overrated team in sports. Please keep them away from the BCS. There's talk of a Notre Dame/Michigan rose bowl, that'd be the biggest waste of a bowl game they could possibly too.

They need to make a rule - if you're not in a conference, you're not BCS eligible.

cchris, dont complain about the refs. i saw the game, and for the most part they did a good job. even if those calls went the other way, the cocks had control the entire time.

EDIT: amato officially fired too

The 4th and 1 call was not bullshit? Come on, you can't make absolutely no forward progress and pick up a first down. I'm fucking tired of hearing that "USC beat the shit out of Clemson." Guess they "beat the shit outta them" by 3 pts.

with USC giving them a TD on an int return. its pretty bad when you cant run down a defensive tackle from the 8 yard line

I didn't get to see the whole SC/Clemson game, but overall there has been A LOT MORE BAD CALLS this year than in most.

OU vs. Oregon: In my (completely selfish) opinion, one of the worst calls of the year. Just last week the booth ref who blew the call said he knew Oklahoma had recovered the ball, but he wasn't allowed to rule on that. Someone emailed me a picture of Allen Patrick standing outside of the pile holding the ball while a ref was digging into the pile. However, OU should have shut them down after it happened.

What about the South Florida powerhouse knocking off WV?

the OU call was definitely the worst of the year. they would be in national title contention right now.

usf had a good win. WVU bounces back and beats rutgers this week though

Nah, Rutgers wins after a pissed-off loss to Cincinatti. No bounce-back, I think. Have to say, OU-Oregon was really bad, the worst referee call of the year. I don't know 100% about him coming up with the ball because the whistle was blown a few seconds before he came up from the pile with the ball, no one even pointed to him or anything because they knew it was already down.

However, I have another reason as to why Clemson lost, probably the best. Not just the refs that screwed us over a few times, but the wonderful call to take out Reggie Merriweather. A senior who led Clemson to so many huge wins in so many years, completely shafted in '06. They put him in. In three plays he gets 23 yards with 7 to 8 guys in the box, that's more yards than Davis managed on all his carries all game. Get inside the 20 and take out Reggie. We chanted Reggie when he stepped onto the field every game this year, and 80,000+ chanting "REGGIE! REGGIE! REGGIE!" can motivate someone. He was ready to score - and damn well would have. So instead we put in Spiller, who gets tackled and hurt on the first couple of plays. Then Davis, his shoulder still bothering him a little. Nothing wrong with Reggie, nothing wrong with letting him score his last touch down...except that he never got to.

All I have to say is that Bowden is gonna be booed like hell by a huge crowd as soon as he's back from the bowl game if Reggie doesn't start, and at least drive to a touchdown. I'll be there, that's for sure, letting him know what a mistake it was to leave him out.

the BCS got shaken up again today, USC lost and that SHOULD move michigan back into the #2 spot. although it was a great game the first time, i would rather see a different game, such as florida vs. ohio state.

i went over to wake after the ACC championship and it was awesome, never seen so much toilet paper.

where is clemson going? meineke car care?

Well what do you know, you get an early Christmas present of OSU vs. UF. I have a feeling UF may get crushed. If Arkansas hadn't muffed that punt, UF would have gone down then. That completely turned the tide of the game.

Now its up to my Sooners to give Boise State their first loss. If this doesn't happen, BS will bitch about being robbed of a title shot until next year.

Peterson is coming back for the Fiesta Bowl. Let's go bowling!

Actually, Music City. I don't know if that was a joke, WG, but I could always remind you of NC State's record this year ;) But yeah, Music City. Apparently some classy Carolina fans rented out hotels in Nashville for the week to prevent Clemson fans from getting them, and are going to put "31-28" on billboards near the stadium. If it happens to be true (they've spray painted signs and buildings in columbia already, fucking wal-mart trash) then we truly see how used the are to losing.

Oh yeah, on the note of bball...clemson 74 carolina 53...what biatch.

Speaking of bowls, we have some great ones this year. I really like Mich vs. USC. LSU is basically playing at home; I'm definitely not a fan, but I hope they destroy Notre Dame to kill the hype.

I had more fun watching the Insight Bowl between AZ State and Rutgers last year (when I became a fan of both schools) than I did most of the bigger ones. Definitely the hardest played game I saw, harder than the Rose Bowl in my opinion.
