Thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It focuses on an attack on Americans in Saudi Arabia. The FBI sends a crew to investigate. One interesting thing I pulled out of it; during the opening credits, it basically tells the story that when Iraq invaded Iraq, Osama Bin Laden asks the Saudi Arabian government to let his group drive out the Iraqi invaders. SA says no, and brings in the US. I had never heard this before. It makes you wonder if a lot of problems (9/11, world vs. Iraq) could have been avoided. Please post if you get the same thing, or if I missed it. Great action, very intense combat sequences. Not a perfect movie, but I'll give it 10/10. |

I haven't seen that particular show, but foreign policy in the middle east has been off-kilter for many decades as I see it. First we were friends with Osama when it behooved us, then we established a firm presence over there and he got pissed off at us. We backed Saddam partially because he was against the Iranians until he wanted to assert his own influences on the region, then G.H.W.Bush didn't like it and went against him in the first Gulf War. Now the bastard is dead after our government fabricated a reason to go to war with them. I mean, they guy was a bastard no doubt about it, but why was the US leadership so eager to get into bed with Saddam years ago, only to turn on him when he decided not to be our lapdog? I don't really doubt, in retrospect, that 911 could have been averted to some extent if not entirely if we had not been meddling so long in the internal affairs of the mesopotamian countries. |
