Is anyone else blown away by this game? It's probarly the best RPG I've ever played (not couting ANY of the Final Fantasys of course, there in a league of their own) This game is huge, its quite hard to explain how insanly big this game is..... and dispite being a hardcore sci-fi it still retains some nice old beardy RPG elements, exploring a new planet? Head down into a research facility and kill lots of things (dungon anyone?) the voice acting is incredable, graphics are jaw fucking dropping, actually going to go as far to say better than assassins creed.....yes that good. Combat system......well it works, it's flawed, but works. It's sort of a REALLY half assed tactical combat system, but it just dosent work so you get into the old RPG tatic of running around in circles or hitting somone a few times and running away. Oh, and no close combat either which I thought was a bit of a drag, I like plowing people into fist fights. If you've ever either of the KOTOR games then you'll instanly recognise this, follows a similar "plot line" you could say, land on your first planet (crash, dock ect...) prove yourself (become a jedi from the old KOTOR game) get your ship and whisk off into space. Character creation is cool, you can pick from the usual stuff for physical appearance, then class, about half way though the game you get sub class so you get to specialise, then back story, which i found intresting. It's certainly going to affect how people talk to you / about you in the game, but what im not sure of is if it will affect how you talk to other people. Will let you know on my second play though. LAst thing I do like it the old "light and dark side" meters made a return from KOTOR. It's nice this time thought because you can earn Paragon (good) and Renegade (bad) point, and you can actually max out both meters from what im aware (if there were enough points in the game, which i am doubtful of) hmmm, 50 levles on first play though then you can play it again in hardcore mode and level cap is raised to 60 so it's worth a second play thou. This is a must have for ANY 360 collections. |

Everyone says they love it, but it just doesn't sound like my type of game. Then again, if I'd known Assassin's Creed was like it was I probably wouldn't have gotten it, but I loved that game. I think I might go for a rent on this one, probably next weekend or during winter break. I haven't played any of the KOTOR games, so I guess this will be all new to me. One thing I heard that I don't really like is that it guides you through. Its "linear" which I didn't even know was a kind of RPG. I thought they were all like Oblivion, which is the only RPG I've played. I'll give it a try though. Sounds interesting. -EDIT- Oh, I heard your character bumps uglies with an alien. Sounds wierd. |
