 I figured cchris would be interested in this. I'm getting into Purdue basketball since that is where I'll be going next year.

They are real fun to watch and shit. Last week we beat a 11 ranked Wisconsin in an awesome upset. Tonight we beat Iowa by a free throw with 1.4 seconds left. 51-50

This guy(keaton grant) who hasn't missed a free throw in a month sacrificed his streak to shank a free throw to run the clock down. Nobody had any timeouts left cuz both teams used their last with 5 seconds left. Great game.

 Hah, thanks. I'm still a little sore about our loss to Duke (via the usual cheating) and our close OT loss to UNC by a couple points. However, I've only had time to make it to one game, and that was the double-OT win against FSU. I can't say there was much more of a gut-wrenching game to watch, since we sank a 3 at the buzzer to send it into OT and a 2 and the OT buzzer to send it into double. From there we took off and won by 10 or so.

This past saturday's competition between BC wasn't much of a game. We were up 6 at half, and won by more than 20.

 I'll be going to the Big Ten tournament on Friday. I've got IU tickets to see them play against the winner of Minnesota v. Northwestern, then I've got Purdue tickets against the winner of Michigen v. Ohio State, I think. Should be a good night.

Yea, if I remember correctly, Clemson beat Purdue in the beginning of the year.

Oh well, we'll have to get a pool going around the forums for the NCAA tourney if we can.

 ive given up on my team. last in the acc and lost 8 in a row to end the season. wouldnt be nearly as bad if we werent picked to finish 3rd.

Sorry, but I'm so damn proud! Finally got my OPP (Oliver Purnell's Posse) shirt, because I've been so busy I haven't been able to make it to all the games like I did last year. Last year I had floor seats for quite a few games, & camped out for tickets, but I've been too bogged down. So I'm an "old" member of OPP, which is just as good.

 I was at the Big Ten Tournament for the Minnesota game.

They will talk about that game for 50 years.


3.4 seconds left, IU is down by 2 (55-57). Eric Gordon, a clutch free throw shooter, is at the free throw line and misses his first! Then, he misses his second.

D.J. white rebounds the ball and puts it in to tie the game at 57! BUT HE WAS FOULED!!! With 3.1 seconds left, D.J. white is at the line and MISSES!!

Its okay, though, because he gets his rebound and gets fouled again with 1.5. D.J. readies himself and fires up a miss. The game is still tied at 57. He collects himself and finally hits the shot 58-57.

IU WINS 58-57... but what about that 1.5 seconds?

Well, Minnesota, after leading the whole game, does a last desperate attempt to regain the victory. They chuck it down court to the opposite free throw line. A random Minnesota player catches it and tosses it up. IT GOES IN! MINNESOTA WINS 59-58! Mind you that the stadium was 90% IU fans chanting "DJ WHIIIITE" 30 seconds ago. Now it is silent as they show a replay in the middle.

 nothing is better than seeing UNC get completely manhandled, and watching it with a lot of my tar heel friends made it even better. it was hard for me to contain my emotions and not have them kick me out. one of my friends threw his cell phone across the room and broke it on the wall he was so mad. another one of my friends was watching the game at a frat house at UNC and one of the brothers punched their plasma hdtv and broke it when the game ended. just thinking about that game still brings a smile to my face.

 Well, fortunately for me (and if I owned one, my plasma HDTV), everyone I know is one of those "true" UNC fans, you know what I mean.
"Oh yeah we beat yall yesterday."
"Really? Wofford played us in basketball?"
"Nah I'm a UNC fan."

Now fast forward to the weekend before last.

"Man, UNC just got bent over and destroyed."
"Whatever, I go to Wofford so I don't care, it's not my school."

Okay, well the school above wasn't quite where this particular person went in this particular instance, but I changed it to save them a little embarrassment. It starts with the same letter as Wofford and ends with an -inthrop, and they had the most pathetic NCAA tournament appearance I have ever seen come from any team during the second half of a game.

Back on topic...

I'm proud to say that I will NOT jump on the bandwagon, I respect UNC as a school/team but I don't like them. Dook is a different story, they're a bunch of cheating pieces of shit that should just drop to their knees and such Coach Shitheadski's dick. So, yeah, that's how it goes.

Some people around here don't like NC State because they're all the flaky UNC fans, but I have to say that I do pull for NC State when we're not playing them, or when it's not for a spot in the ACC Atlantic champ game. I'm hopin ya do the same for us, WG ;)
